Launch of Regional Project on Updating National Implementation Plans for the Stockholm Convention Held in Yerevan

On November 29, 2024, a launching workshop of the regional project “Review and update of National Implementation Plans in the framework of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants in Albania, Armenia, Kazakhstan” was held in the Tufenkian Historic Yerevan Hotel, carried out by the “Environmental Program Implementation Office” State Institution and the Stockholm Convention Regional Centre in the Czech Republic. 

The objective of the program is to contribute to the implementation of the Stockholm Convention in participating countries through participation in the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on the development, review and update of the National Implementation Plan, strengthening national technical capacity and expertise. The updating of the National Implementation Plan with the support of the GEF is currently ongoing simultaneously in 35 UN countries.

The “Armenian Women for Health and Healthy Environment” NGO was present at the workshop as a participant in the implementation of the aforementioned project.
